UUCR is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association, the central organization for the Unitarian Universalist (UU) religious movement in the United States. As a member of the UUA’s 1000+ member congregations, we are committed to Seven Principles that include the worth of each person, the need for justice and compassion, and the right to choose one’s own beliefs.

We are also a member congregation of the Joseph Priestley District (JPD) of the UUA. This regional district covers Delaware, Maryland, Southern New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, Northern Virginia, and Washington DC. There are over 70 member congregations within JPD.

The JPD has organized clusters of congregations to facilitate growth, sharing, and networking within a smaller geographic area. Our Primary Contact at JPD is Rev. David Pyle. Within JPD, we are part of the Northern Virginia (NoVA) Cluster, along with nine other UU Churches:

  • Accotink Unitarian Universalist Church
  • Bull Run Unitarian Universalists
  • Mount Vernon Unitarian Church
