All are invited to our annual celebration of the shortest day of the year. The ritual will be followed by a potluck.
Bring a side or main dish to share, and please label with ingredients/allergens.
Beverages and desserts will be provided.
Bring your knit, crochet or whatever project you are working on. We will be happy to teach anyone who would like to learn to knit or crochet. Some of us are knitting scarves for the Red Scarf Project and would love to have more stitchers to join us. You can find our more about the Red Scarf Project at the Foster Care to Success website www.fc2success.org.
We will be downstairs in the Library — enter the door on the deck and turn right to go down the stairs or left to use the elevator. Note: the Mindfulness Meditation group meets in the Sanctuary — please be quiet as you enter the building and head down the stairs or to the elevator, and as you leave the building after our meetup.
Join Reston CUUPS for our annual Witch Ball Crafting Workshop in the sanctuary at UU Reston. Witch Balls are clear glass (or kid-friendly plastic) ornaments that participants will fill with their choice of herbs, crystals, and other items. The balls can then be hung above the front door or front window at home to invite prosperity and protection into your home in the coming year. All ages are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please email restoncuups@uureston.org by 11/28/2025 to let us know you are coming so we can have enough supplies on hand. Glass and plastic balls will be provided along with some supplies to fill your witch ball.
A free-will donation of $5.00 per person/$15.00 for family of 3 or more is requested. Donations can be made by going to uureston.org/reston-cuups and clicking the donate link. Please enter “witch ball” section and the number of attendees in the comment box. If you don’t want to donate online donations may also be made the day of the workshop – please email RestonCUUPS@UUReston.org to let us know you are coming and how many people you are bringing so we can be sure to have enough materials.
We will have the some supplies to fill your witch ball: Iron filings, Shredded money, Cinnamon, Rosemary, Rice paper, Rosebuds, Other herbs, Miscellaneous charms
Supplies you may want to bring: A pen or marker, ribbon, any small item that is meaningful to you

We will have the New Moon Ritual followed by snacks, fellowship and a drum circle.
Bring your drum if you have one - and if you don’t, we will have a few drums and other percussion to loan.
