Films on Friday

Films on Friday is a beloved UUCR tradition - a fun and enlightening (and delicious!) event, hosted by Bill on the first Friday of most months. Do come join us for our continuing showings of independent or lesser-seen “moving pictures.’’ Come watch good movies with good people! Tell your friends! See you there!

7:00pm: Snacks (+ Bill’s pies) & social
7:30pm: Movie

The film title is typically added to the UUCR event calendar the week before the event and is also shared in our eBlast newsletter. The event is free, but snacks and donations are always appreciated.

Films on Friday welcomes all - please join us!

“Koln 75”  This is the story of how a teenager, Vera Brandes, with incredible chutzpah decided that she would organize a concert for legendary jazz pianist Keith Jarrett.  Her enthusiasm set her to multitasking -- from organizing the concert venue (the Cologne Opera House), promoting the event, selling the tickets, and convincing Jarrett to perform when he almost dropped out when the Bösendorfer Imperial Grand piano he was promised was nowhere to be found.  This concert became the best selling solo album in jazz history.

In English and  German with English subtitles, 2025 (112 minutes)
