UUCR is offering the OWL Sexuality Education Program for students in grades 7-9 this fall.
Thank you for your interest in UUCR's Our Whole Lives (OWL) program!
The Unitarian Universalist Association describes OWL as an age appropriate, comprehensive sexuality education program for youth that models and teaches caring, compassion, respect, and justice. OWL is a holistic program that moves beyond the intellect to address the attitudes, values, and feelings that youth have about themselves and the world.
OWL is a wealth of information for our young teens. Some of the OWL curriculum includes topics centering around body image, social media/internet, bullying/bystander responsibilities, and consent education. For more information on this program, click here.
UUCR is offering OWL classes for students in grades 7-9. The classes will be held at UUCR three Sundays per month from 12:00-1:30 beginning October 15th. To view the OWL class dates & curriculum topics covered, please click here. There is a mandatory Parent Orientation on September 24th from 12:30 - 2pm. This meeting is extremely important as we have material that you need to review and approve before classes begin. Please click here to register for the parent Orientation on September 24th.
The suggested donation for OWL is $200.00 per family for those who are not currently financially supporting UUCR.
Space is limited. Please email Nichole Hodges-Abbasi, Acting Director of Religious Education, to learn more.
