The UUCR Social Justice Committee has endorsed the March for Science and is asking Members and Friends to participate.
With the support of more than 100 scientific labor unions, civic organizations and others, hundreds of thousands have signed up to join on April 22, Earth Day, the March for Science. It is a celebration of science but it is also about the role it plays in our lives and the future of our world.
The March’s mission is to call for a science that upholds the common good and for political leaders to enact evidence based policies in the public interest. In addition, the march hopes to raise awareness of the need for government funding for scientific research, government transparency, and government acceptance of the scientific consensus on climate change and evolution.
The UUCR Social Justice Committee has endorsed this march and is asking church Members and Friends to participate. We will add our voice in support of this mission.
UUCR has chartered a bus to provide transportation to and from the event. Please click here to purchase tickets.
Please contact Lee Norrgard, Chair of the Social Justice Committee, to learn more or to volunteer. Thank you for your support of this critically important issue.
