Message from Justin Martin, Acting Director of Religious Education

Hey Everyone,

I’m Justin Martin, the new Acting Director of Religious Education here at UUCR.  I’m really excited about getting to know you all, and learning all about this church.  Here’s a little information about me, so you can get to know me too.  For the last year I have been working down the road at the UU Congregation of Fairfax as the Intern Minister and as their Summer Minister.  Before that I worked at the UU Church of Arlington as the Religious Education Coordinator.  I live in Washington, DC with my wife Jess and my 18 month old son Caleb.  They will probably drop by from time to time, so feel free to say hi.  I just finished getting my Masters of Divinity degree at Wesley Seminary in DC, and I am working toward being ordained in the next few years.

            We’ve got a few fun things in store for the beginning of the church year.  On Sunday the 18th after church, the RE Committee and I would like to invite you all to a cook out and clean up at the church.  We will have children’s activities going on after the service, and we will work together to spruce up the downstairs of the church a bit in preparation for the start of the church year.  After the clean up is done, which shouldn’t take long at all, there will be fire grilled burgers of the meat and veg variety for one and all.  Hopefully you can come check it out.  It will be a ton of fun.
